This started out as a fruit fly experiment and suddenly included rain. |
|
|
751 - 760: One Halloween pumpkin, absolutely saturated with
fruit flies, was saved in a white plastic garbage bag for the evening's photos.
Out of the first yard shots 751 to 760, only three produced a few small orbs
while one had a few very strong orbs and the last had over a dozen. As usual,
it is as if they start appearing after the first dozen camera flashes. We
are about thirty feet from the street. |

We dragged out the garbage bag to the center of the lawn
and started snapping pictures. DL poked at the bag with a broom to wake up
the little insects, which we could all visibly see. 762 shows nothing while
763 had a bright light.
Small or light, solitary orbs appear, then a bright orb at DL's feet. Eight
picutres with nothing in them, then a light streaks across DL's face, which
none of us saw with our naked eyes. We are in Cailfornia, and we do not have
lightning bugs.
There were many small orbs, including one red orb in 772, and a bright solitary
in 775.

790 - 794: Shots from across the street revealed a bright
light rain drop, two bright orbs, one red, and a large, light orb.
At this point, we went inside to download the pictures. Then, it started
to rain.

795 - 824: What a surprise. Pictures 796 to 822 would
be almost identical. Obvious rain (tiny and distinctively tear shaped, some
with long tails) and a massive collection of orbs, both light and bright,
along with obviously moving, brilliant white circles of light. While there
were orbs in most of the pictures, their presence would vary greatly. Passing
cars did not have any effect, neither did a bicycler. Distinct difference
bewtween objects here, and the two shots show rain and an oddly shaped orb,
moving up. Rain does not fall up. |
|
|
825 - 860: A small scattering of orbs while the rain drops
continued to appear. From across the street again, armed with a lens
shield and umbrella, shots 832 to 841 included only four shots with an occasional
orb and no rain drops. Perhaps the rain only appears with the flash under
the canopy of the trees? 844 to 860 were taken walking back to the porch
backwards, taking shots every two feet revealed small, insignificant orbs
in three pictures and occasional raindrops. |
|
|
After we had downloaded pictures and closed up for the night,
one last attempt for the evening from the porch, after the rain had subsided,
shots 861 to 909 revealed absolutely nothing besides an occasional raindrop.
Everyone had 'bugged' out for the night? |
|
|
Conclusion: these orbs are not tiny bugs, nor are they rain drops. What
are they? |
