Wolfe Manor, Clovis, CA  Saturday night, Sept 27, 2008

We have reserved three or more hours at Wolfe Manor in Clovis for Saturday night. Before starting the tour, Anne, Jay and DL leave David and Gary at the cars to walk the back field where Anne finds a rock whose home was originally in a deep sort of basement, DL had a quiet anxiety attack, and Jay went walking around a green room (next to a yellowish beige/brown room and attached to a long corridor), which she felt and Anne could see.  Jay felt a group of refrigerators.  David took pictures of us three out there, unbeknownst to us, which proved later to probably be dust (even though we could not duplicate it on another evening there) but we simply love that picture. We meet up with our guide, Terry Campbell and proceed through the lovely old front doors. The house is exquisite.

The first floor offers the elegant foyer with the grand staircase, similar dining room and parlour, kitchen, storage rooms, corridors and odd little extra rooms including the infamous five minute room, the stairway to the basement and a short stair to the back of the house.

David watched one of the little tests (a Matchbox car) scoot across the kitchen floor, unaided. Jay and Anne received uncomfortable whirlwind energy spots in the corridor, Anne's brand new ion camera batteries die. Jay does not like the back steps, Anne doesn't like the five minute room.

The basement contains a few rooms including the pink room where contact is reportedly regular. The climb down the stairs gave Anne the willies with the strong sensation of being closely followed. Strange noises in the pink room, but nothing concrete. We leave with the deafening sounds of silence ringing in our ears. Soon, DL's camera would refuse to focus for a time and Jay's camera flash quit but worked again on the ride home. One group picture on the stairs produces one orb, hovering around Anne's head.

The second floor has a multitude of bedrooms, a large landing with two front windows, and access to the attic. The flower wallpapered master bedroom has a history of gay waltz music, the attached bathroom has seen some suicidal activity. Next, Mary's room would be fun. David's camera was pushed into his side with no one near him before we settled down for a conversation with Mary. As we established that Mary was afraid of someone else in the house who knew we were there, Jay receives an electric shock to the back of her neck, strong and sudden enough to double her over. The tour continued through other rooms and to the second black room with the black gurney where a male was felt, lingering angrily in the corner, and a woman was willing to talk to us. George's room was silent. Our next orbs would appear in the landing and the black room.

Next, we climb to the attic, a lovely warm, dormer room you immediately fell in love with. A small corner room is unhappy, but the rest of the room is light and pleasant, despite a negative history we did not feel. The pictures of this room would produce numerous orbs, still, possibly dust.

Back down to the parlour to take pictures of the room, the mantel, the family pictures on the wall, and the attached atrium with a grand tile floor design. The ceiling picture would produce the first orb pictures we found once we were back home.

David and Gary take a break while the girls head back through the kitchen and down to the basement again, singing "Row Row Row Your Boat" for no apparent reason except Anne was 'told' to sing it Once back in the pink room, we turned off our lights and sat, our ears ringing from the silence. Anne's cell phone, in a tight back jean pocket, moves up and down while she is sitting very still, against a wall and on the floor. Back up to Mary's room for our second conversation, then to the Solarium for a conversation with "Charlie."

Scott Griswold arrives. As he seems to have angered the house of late, Anne yells, "Scott's home!"  Scott takes us to the five minute room where Anne and DL get extremely dizzy, then Anne, DL and David distinctly feel the floor wave and move. Anne experiences a new sensation, like she is being lifted to the ceiling, head slightly bent forward, looking at the faded linoleum floor, so dizzy and ill she braces herself against the wall. She felt she was being shown what it is like to leave your body at death, a possible death in the room might be the answer.

Down to the pink room to ask for visitation and we hear distinct dripping and a squeak, common old house noices, but he house has been without electricity and water for years. As we are starting to leave, Anne is facing the door of the room we were in, and through that door, there is another door in the wall to the right. Anne heard the roar of the traffic coming through that door, then as it got louder, too loud, took a few steps back. She asks which way is the front of the house, and the traffic, only to learn it is behind her. Noises can be deceiving, to say the least.
